Just got a call from Mr. Jeal Jnr. to say that my car is running! I could hear it thumpin' away in the backround.

Can't wait to get it back which should be Saturday or Sunday and I am hoping to take it to the Guildford Cruise on Sunday afternoon.

Tomorrow is suspension setup day and Saturday is basic calibration.

I will then put some (gentle) miles on it. Don't know if I will get some dyno numbers at the weekend, but if I do I will post them.

I am a very happy rabbit!

I'm interested in this stuff. Are you sticking to stock rpm's? If so what figures are you hoping for? I see it's a stroker so did you go low c/r pistons or/and truck 6.0 heads etc. Cheers.

Congratulations to Vetteheadracer and Blackzr on the birth of their new baby. I understand that a certain midwife called Daniel assisted in the delivery.

Will try to make Guildford but am going to the British Superbikes at Thruxton on Sunday.

Not sure if we will up the RPM, have the ability with LS1 Edit to change it and will probably go for a higher top-end for TOTB III.

Pistons are lightweight dished ones and they lower the compression ratio to 8.5:1 The heads are the original ones but they had a huge amount of work done to them and they are running within 1 CFM of the heads used on the C5R Racing Corvettes. The valves had a 3 angle grind. The turbo manifolds were match ported and gas flowed to match the engine, everything was balanced before assembly.

Hopefully this will give us some very good numbers which should become apparent tomorrow when the car gets calibrated on the dyno.

I will post the numbers as soon as I know......

Fastest Z06 in a lot of places.

Congartulations Nige, that's one helluva serious package you got there now. Hope any minor issues get sorted easily and quickly.
And bloody-well-done to D & G, I'm certain they put their all into it.

Thanks JT.

Dan has worked so hard on this for the last month so I am really pleased for him especially that it appears there are no problems. I can't wait until tomorrow when I get to hear it running (I heard it last night via telephone but that is not the same).

I was like and expectent father waiting for a birth!

Thank the Lord ( and the Jeals ) for that. 5 days in Le Mans listening to " My car isn't finished " would try even my patience! Nige, don't run it in too quickly. Remember that I will be trying to keep up with you on the way down - NOT !!!!

Thanks for that. I guess you have a forged crank as well, maybe a Lunati kit. I'm doing something on 7:1 c/r but stock capacity, stock crank & rods and custom forged pistons. I have a twin throttle plenum, ls6 valves, 6.0 317 heads, 36-1 trigger (for the DTA management) and a windowed block etc. Oh, I've got no money either The cams a custom turbo grind. When it's done I'm hoping to use 20 psi or at least 15 and maybe I'll get near to 700 lbs/ft which would be nice. I don't expect the bhp to be much over 500 as the rev limit won't be past 6500. Still, I shall just have to see how it goes. Have you chosen your turbo's yet?

Having some calibration issues with the car after those nice Americans that supplied the kit and promised a calibration setup spectactularly failed to deliver anything.......

Mr Jeal Snr. is doing his best but it is an iterative process. How to get the car back tomorrow.

Just wondering who supplied the kit? Did it not come with a chip or complete ECM for the new set-up?

Geoff isn't having to calibrate from scratch is he? That could take a fair while. Hope it's all sorted soon.

This had to be the first thing I read on coming back here. Hope the calibration gets sorted quickly without anything going wrong. Can't wait to see the beast, the Southsea cruise is on 20th June so hopefully you'll be ready for that.
