Need a no frills, no hassle, easy to maintain bike for riding round town. There are no hills to speak of and so not really bothered about gears.

I like the look of the Specialized more, so for me it's the clear option, but I don't know if anyone has experience of either so just looking for opinions really.

£500 budget, and as light as possible without the lightness coming as a result of the bike being weak.

Do Trek do a belt drive version of that bike? If they do it'll be worth considering as it'll take away chain maintenance from your list - the belt lasts (almost) forever.

If you had the option to go for belt drive, do it.

I used to have a 2007 Langster and utterly loved it, if you do go down the Langster route, try to avoid the silly paintjobs.
