What bike via Ride2Work scheme?

My place does a "Ride2Work" scheme, which gets me 42% off any bike from here http://www.evanscycles.com/
I just want a bike to potter about on the redways in Milton Keynes, so i'm guessing I want a hybrid? The bike (plus accessories) can be between £250-£1000 (so cost to me will be £150-£600) in value to fit in the scheme.
What should I be looking at? Happy to pay the higher cost if it gets me something much better.
