I have passed the first part of the interview process and have been called along to a driver assessment/attitude to driving test(ish).

Has anyone done similar, i dont really know what to expect!

I had one of those assesments for a DHL (type) delivery - multi drop - driver. I drove absolutely by the book and .... failed!

Can you taqlk to one of the current drivers and see what it is they want? Failing that, I'd be inclined to drive "properly" and showing courtesy to other road users. Be a good embassador for the supermarket.

Be smart; ensure vehicle is presentable and safe; drive courteously and defensively, protecting yourself, other road users and of course your cargo. Acknowledge that you could damage their reputation through poor driving standards, including how you park up to do an actual delivery, including keeping yourself safe, not blocking the highway and ensuring your load is secure whilst you're delivering to the doorstep. Good luck!

Just out of curiosity did you carry out a safety check of the vehicle first?

hubby does this for a "living"

polite, courteous driving, if you have a test in the vehcicle do the safety check, tyres, oil etc, and over exagerate your mirror and checks (like you do on a real driving test, definitely don't bumpo the kerbs in the van, automatic fail at this one (T)

clean shaven unless already with a full beard goes down well.

you might get asked "what will do you if.." type questions, normally they are fairly common sense answers, like "if you get told the payments not gone through what do you do?"

if i think of anything else/when he gets in to ask, i'll be back biggrin
