Our Bosch dishwasher stopped heating the water the other day so I Googled for possible solutions/parts. I found this: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/appliance-industry-n...Basically there is a fire risk and Bosch are doing a free repair. This fire risk also applies to Siemens and Neff machines. If you look at the bottom of that page there are a couple of pictures to show where to find your machine details but the details are very difficult to read. They are etched in to the metal and but are very faint. There is also a link to checking your machine and if necessary booking a repair. Stay safe out there!

As posted it may be letters and numbers stamped rather faintly into the top of the door - the shiny surface you see as you pull the door open (and get a faceful of steam ) Saw this elsewhere and was relieved to find ours is OK.

seeing as British Gas are handling it I wouldnt count on it!
funny thing is Bosch anounced a fire related recall of dishwahsers on the same day....seemed to have dissapeared under the radar that one, something tells me the head brass of the London fire briagade may be a disgruntled Beko customer. Maybe a mod might want to change the thread title to "Bosch, Siemens, Neff Dishwasher, if you have one please read".

Hummm ..... although my batch number, and age both fall within the range, the model does not. I plugged both numbers into the BSH website (I've got a Bosch), and it tells me that my model is not affected

One word of warning if you fall if your machine falls into the recall category - mine did - if you book an appointment using the on-line booking procedure, be very careful about checking for your confirmation emails - you have to respond to a link they send within 2 hours otherwise they cancel your appointment.
However they have had a problem over the weekend in that the initial confirmation email hasn't been sent out, only the email telling you the appointment has been cancelled a few hours later. i tried the process a couple of times to no avail. The cancellation email does give you a phone number to call though, so maybe less hassle just to call in the first place.
The number is 0844 892 8920 in case anyone needs it. Make sure you have your long model number and FD number to hand when you call.

good point that last post, if you bothered to fill out your warranty card and send it off then you would be contacted automaticly about this.
Although I have seen many blown and burnt joints on these pcb's I have never come across anything more serious and all had been confined to the casing around the module. I do think that a re call of any sort prompts a lot of hysteria so if you do have an affected model, get it checked but dont worry too unduly and you might as well use it in the mean time. The most likely problem will just be a lack of heat duting he wash.
