Anybody fancy hosting a smallish Ring video which I received this morning?

It's 19 mb, and is a lap from last summer in my 968 CS. Think it gives a good illustration of how bumpy the Ring is, and of the amount of bikers out and about on a typical summer weekend.

Well, with huge thanks to Jamie, it would now appear to be here -

Couple of comments -

Slow down a lot behind a white Sierra, there was a posted 50kmh limit through a section because of big armco damage on right hand side as seen by set of cones, some car had a big high speed spin on on a fast section and left a hole in the armco.

Camera drops to the floor couple of times as there were accidents with marshalls in attendance, and due to the video ban being in place, we thought it prudent to keep the camera out of sight as we passed innocently.

Some excellent driving there. Your camera man did well for a hand held effort.

Superb Euan, some nice lines you clearly know the circuit very well.

I haven't driven there for 18 months and was suprised at how I knew what was coming next...different when you are there at speed.

Thanks for posting this guys

Thanks I see so few Ring vids nowadays because of the video/camera ban that I thought anything is better than nothing.

You can probably hear a speed related vibration noise through the whole lap - that was my rear wheel bearings being on the way out. I got them replaced by JZ shortly after (at a v reasonable price) and that's now gone. On that trip the noise was making me think something's about to go an expensive bang, but luckily the car held out for the weekend.

Also the rear right tyre hits the wheelarch sometimes through corners, noticeable through the Karussel. That one I haven't solved, but regular inspection has concluded it sounds worse than any damage it causes.

nice driving

rapid car

Cheers
Paul

BTW building up to taking my 996 to the ring - trying to find a brave passenger seems difficult!
