Virgin HD Box Question
Discussion
I've just ordered my home media package with Virgin and am looking into locating all of my AV hardware (HD Box, Blu-Ray, XBOX)in the lobby between the dining room and living room, with the TV mounted in the living room on the wall.
Question is, can i purchase a type of IR repeater that will work with the Virgin box? As I've read that these do not work with Virgin, even though they'll work with Sky.
I'm not worried about the XBOX as that isn't IR apparently, and the Blu-Ray will be fine as I'll press play and not worry about having control within the Lounge.
Apologies that the email is quite poorly written, when it comes to AV I'm not too tech at all!
Thanks for your help,
Matt

Are you aware that you will need to run HDMI cables from your equipment to the TV? You wont be able to distribute HD over an Aerial connection.
Got this covered, the box is literally on the other side of the wall to the TV, they're back to back. So just going to drill a ~2" hole in the wall to feed the HDMI cables for the Blu-Ray, XBox and Virgin Box through, along with the TV Power cable. Which is why i'm ideally after a hard wired option to transmit the IR signal. Wonder if something like this would do the trick?

Thanks in advance,

I get mine from Keene. http://www.keene.co.uk/multi.php?mycode=IRBKIT
This works very well with the Virgin HD box....we have one we use with ours.

I have no idea how it works but it does. You replace one of the batteries in the standard remote with a transmitter and it's job done.....

I'm using the same with a (non HD) virgin box in the bedroom and a DVD player without any issues.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
