Can I ask roughly what you gave for this? There don't seem to many for sale and quite a few are shed money.

Would these be utter dogs do you think? What kind of going rate would you estimate for a well maintained one?

Thanks

Fantastic cars, I've currently got one sat on my drive, 850 T5 GLT , sadly just waiting for the V5 to arrive to sell it as after 2 weeks ownership the fuel costs are just too much for my 100 mile round trip each day. frown

Built like bleeding tanks, I had an S70 before that someone opened a car door into in a Tesco's car park and it barely left a mark let alone a ding.

Can you not just bloody shut up about how good it is? laugh Making me miss mine even more! I'm going to have to get another one next year when my current lease is up, no doubt about it.

Looking like a great example, hope it continues to do a good job for you.

It is a seriously good looking car. Superb things. I can't think how many times I have watched that video of your exhaust!

I'm on my second T5 estate, can't bring myself to get rid! I'm spending a few quid next week on the front suspension and new rear calipers.

I love these! very nearly bought one when I was looking for a fast estate, it was only the 4wd system that clinched the deal for the vr4 I bought.

I could quite happily go back to a Volvo one day. When the missus needs a bigger car, I suspect I'll be hunting something with a T5 badge for her.

Great to see you enjoying your T5 so much!
I have only had mine for about a month but I already love it. I am going to have to look in to getting the same wheels that you have so I can add bigger brakes, I agree that the car is under-braked for its size and power. They do the job but I would not like to push them too far.
It is amazing how much of a sleeper this car is, it fools everyone in to thinking you are a pensioner who only drives at 40mph. When the heavy right foot come out and 4500 rpm is reached, there is such a lovely engine note and a surge of power letting you hurtle towards the horizon smile
Very refined on motorway journeys too, I surprised myself that the last 100 mile+ trip I did gave me 35.4 mpg!! delighted
Have you found much of a performance difference on different fuels? at present I am running standard Esso 95 RON

Glad to hear she's still going strong.

My S70 is just about to roll past 104k, it's just getting nicely run in smile

Good stuff. I can't believe how reliable the car had been.

I really like these and came close to buying one a few times but never took the plunge.

Good thread and a car I would like to own one day. I regularly do a trip from Edinburgh down to the midlands and back again over a weekend (via the A68) and I bet the T5 would be an ideal car for that - nice big roads with straights for overtaking, as well as a good amount of motorway driving.

I do enjoy the trip in my W124 though!

I've got an 850R with (amongst other things) a 19T, which is rather unfortunately dying on me.

When in it's prime it span up very rapidly and pulled hard to the 7k redline, now it's like driving a diesel.

It's very handy that it just bolts in, so I'll probably replace like-for-like - Volvo will trade in the old Mitsu unit, making the price for a fresh turbine around £850.

Of course, the temptation is there to start leafing through the Garrett catalogue.
