Strange one here after the first digital switch over a week ago my 32 Evesham TV struggles with BBC reception to the point i can't watch it that's all the BBC channels.
Today second part same issues.
Tried the TV in another room and retuned same issue.

TV sounds like it's had it most strange as all other channels ok

TV about 5 years old.

Anyone else have this sort of issue?

Cheers

If it is just the BBC Channels, then it is most likely to be to much signal overloading the input stage of the TV. They are likely to be the most powerful to start with.

This is going to become a common problem as the signal gets turned up when the analogue channels disappear.

Analogue signals have disappeared, haven't they..?

Have you retuned your digitals...?

As suggested it could be too much signal, does you TV have any signal strength/condition meters in the settings menu? Maybe look in Manual Tuning. If every thing is up at full then you could try an attenuator on the aerial.

Interestingly I also get this.

I have 6 TVs running from a single aerial that is in the loft with a signal booster/splitter up there too.

The signal was always pretty terrible with the analogue TVs, we could only get 4 channels and only really 2 were any good (the TVs are normally used for DVD playing mainly).

With the digital switchover, I bought 6 cheap digiboxes and simply plugged them in. The signal on all of the non-BBC channels is perfect but anything associated with the BBC pauses or breaks up constantly making them unwatchable. It is exactly the same on all six TVs.

I guess there may be a signal strength thing built into the digiboxes. So if I turn that down it may help?

cheers

What aerial do you have? It sounds as it wasn't picking up all the channels before the analogue switch-off. The BBC multiplex is probably being transmitted at a frequency the aerial isn't tuned for.

2 issues spring to mind, firstly have you re-tuned your digital channels? Secondly as mentioned above check you now have the right aerial and can receive all the necessary bands.

At least your TV still picks up BBC - my Philips was one of the first integrated digital receiver TVs in about 2003 and isn't compatible with the new type of mutiplex they have all gone/going to!! Gits, it's a great telly with fab picture and sound and will now only work via an inferior external box. So much for "Digital ready" and all that "tick" bks!

I will get my aerial checked. I have no idea what kind it is. It was there when I bought the house and I have never touched it.

I have definitely retuned as the digiboxes were new and the first thing it had to do was tune itself in.

Thanks for the help guys thumbup

Forgot to mention i have 2 other TV's in seperate rooms they re tuned ok.

So i reckon it must be old receiver in Evesham tele that can't cope with increased strength other channels are pick slating but watchable.

Yes i have retuned to digital.

I guess aerial is 15 years old and i use a 6 way booster in the loft.

May well be the issue. I think getting the aerial checked is the first stage.
