Sorry to bump but going on Thursday, is it definitely an all day job? Looking at the pics it looks huge compared to MBW Brooklands that we get over here!
There's far far more in BMW Welt than MB Brooklands.

It depends how many folks you are taking into the museum that
aren't interested that much in cars.

Geeks and anoraks will be in there all day. The not so bothered
a couple of hours tops.

When I went I had a go in the BMW Isetta. Like being transported
in a packing crate it was that small.

Well its myself and the Mrs, she is less bothered but will be OK.

What's the deal with renting cars then?

It's amazing, it works just like an airport car rental desk. Turn up, pay, head down to the underground garage, get in, drive off.

I picked the F10 M5 - 70 euro an hour but where else can you get an hour of Autobahn storming in an M5 for 70 euro!? M3's etc are even cheaper.

Sounds great, is there any catch? Assume not, you just pay for the fuel you use.

I've only ever driven in UK, France and the US. Stupid question really but I assume everything is fairly obvious?

Except for the German autobahn being a *lot* faster and the drivers
being a lot more accurate than the places you mention, yes.

In the unlimited sections, the local coppers will be far more concerned about the
quality of your driving rather than exceeding any specific speed.
Proper lane discipline and keeping an appropriate distance
to the car in front, for instance.

The A9 North from Munich isn't the worst autobahn in Germany and
it isn't the best. I usually keep it downto about 200 kmh (125 mph)
until I get to Nurnberg. Plenty of people pass me.

If you've only ever driven in speed limited countries you need to be
prepared for folks around you doing any speed up to and beyond 150 mph,
even if you are only pottering about at 80 mph.

Drive carefully.

I'd probably stick to non Autobahn roads if that's possible, the site is down at the moment so I cant book anything but I'm tempted to go for the 760 just because its so different to what I've had before (Biggest car/engine was 540i) and they are cheap for what you get!

This, the Mercedes and Porsche Museum are all on my bucket list.

I'd love to go to the Welt/museum. I am jealous.

Well the 760 had been hired out so we have an M6 Vert for an hour, not really long enough but the O/H insists we don't have time for any longer!
