Any truth in this?

I have been sent this by a work colleague, but have no idea as to it's validity.

"Watch out for new digital speed on green cameras. They are at Colchester Avenue, Rover Way the A4119 at Miskin (by Corner park garage) and also at the Mumbles in Swansea. These cameras are on 24/7, are digital so don't run out of film and catch people who speed through green lights as well as jump red lights"

the cameras are there, have been for some time see this thread. I'll be suprised (and worried!) if they are catching people speeding through green though? The amount of taxis i see bombing back and forth down newport road on friday and saturday nights suggests not??

The ones by corner park have the lines on the road, so would indicate speed as well. Other 'red light only' ones i've come across don't have the road markings.

I drive the Llantrisant road to the M4 every day and I always assumed that the traffic lights camera could also pick up the speed as there's lines on the floor. Wouldn't risk speeding down that road either way!

There are no lines on the road on Rover Way by the traffic lights, so I guess there is no speed trap there then. (Not that I ever exceed the limit on the Queens Highway m'lud)

There is def a green light camera on the lights at Parc Penllergaer heading west bound in the 50 limit

I've seen it flash before when someone sped through it on green, not sure about the red light bit though.

I can confirm the lights at the A4119 by corner park are both red light and excess speed 50mph, and as already pointed out this is one of the reasons imo why cameras should be put in place to prevent loss of life as there have been injuries sustained at this location including fatalities.

Noticed a new digital speed camera this morning by the ambulance station on North Road - no longer needs loading with film.
