I'm not a Vauxhall fan but I like that a lot. Nice and subtle bet she's a hoot to drive.

Not seen pics of this car for a while, actually since I sold my VXR and stopped going on VXRO... One of my favourite VXR's on there by a long way.

Thanks

pretty much finished for my liking now (other than the regular track tyres)

I do have a new turbo sitting there and will eventually have it hybrid but I will run the current until such time as it packs it in, and at present its still running sweet on track.

Handling is superb, good controlled power and nice bit of performance, definitely not a hand full on track.

Next up is a little play around with our 1M when it arrives very shortly, the astra will still have its place out on track, easy to maintain and cheap for replacement parts, happy all round.........

Not too bad thanks buddy. Enjoying revving the conkers off it when I go for a spirited drive somewhere. Got a bit of a hankering for an Elise/S2000 at the moment but I'll be keeping this through winter at least.

Are you still banned from VXRO by the way or did they reinstate you? wink

Nice one

still great cars all these years on, hmmmm elise would be my thing over the S2000 but my wife always wanted the honda lol

Yeah still banned (for life), from assisting running the site from the early days to lifer ban the next, ah the site has not been the same for some time, its a corporate marketing tool and controlled as such, but then many already know that. Anyways enough of that crap, that is the past and I have better things on the horizon.......

Such as a 1M? cool

A 1M modded in the same way you've done the VXR would be awesome, kind of a 1M CSL. Just a thought hehe.....

Thats it

the astra isn't what you would call comfortable or practical these days, its serves a purpose and comfort isn't one of them lol

so the 1M is going to be more usable, much more practical and a blast on b-roads so wont be going down the astra route as good as a 1M CSL sounds, but first up will be a KW upgrade, something new on its way so we will be taking it over to Germany to set up, even I don't know the full score, I only got a test on Monday lol

Nice. I can't imagine the 1M needing much doing to be fair. Certainly looks the part and they go well. Will be interesting to see what you do with the new toy...

I would agree

for now a KW upgrade as I doubt you can go wrong with some chassie improvement

the fellas in the US (and some tuners in Germany) are starting to go to town with the tuning, no messing about there

I am not wanting to molester to much to soon to be honest......

Can always change things at a later date if you fancy it. Nice car to be starting off with, I'd be spending money on one if I could.

When its just your own car its easy, but when your misses walks in and places an order in her name during her lunch break, you need to ask permission lol

Nice, what did you remove to save that much weight? As it looks from the pics to still have most of the interior and the addition of the cage?

removed the heavy bulky oem seating front and rear
all seat belts and pre tensioners
all 6 airbags including steering wheel bag
aircon and all associated plumbing etc
all the sound proofing throughout but re-placed the carpet and panels to give it a oem look, see you couldn't work out what was done form just looking ; )
4 speakers, insulation and side steel impact bars from all doors
passenger seat pole position removed runners and mounted to the floor
rear windscreen wiper assemble
rear poly carb window
steel underbonnet skeleton cut out
lighter battery
then you have the pro race wheels over oem
uprated suspension over stock weight
uprated stainless steel exhaust and pre cat removal
front brake set up
deleted fog lights
and other little bits of crap removed and not required
