Day after the warranty expires, at the MoT station and the windows fritz (again). Got them closed eventually, but no dipping. Thinking it may be a low battery as the Start/Stop hasn't triggered in months and all the lights inc. hazards were on throughout the MoT.

Is it possible to charge the battery while it's still in the car? And do I need to leave the bonnet open for the crocodile clips to fit?

I'd prefer to take it out (& thus avoid trailing wires out the letter box, not to mention leaving a £50 Optimate on the drive overnight), but what happens to all the security codes?

You can charge in the car no problem. The bonnet should be open for ventalation. If you remove the battery you may lose the radio code, the rest should be ok.

Thanks Dan,

I'll give it a go one evening when it's not so damp. Car's in the dealers today and I get to find out just what the fully comp, no excess, extended warranty covers.
