Damn belgian police.....

....nicked me again coming back from the 'ring 24Hrs race.
We got pulled just before the french border coming back, for doing 150kph on a 120kph deserted straight dual-carriageway. 175 euros each (our convoy of me, another GT2 and a Skyline and a random belgian). Still at least it's better than the 550 euro fine last year.
Seems crazy, when earlier the same day we had legally been doing over twice that speed in Germany........

PS My GT2 has been converted by Ruf into a Ruf R-GT2 and is now faster and lighter and the brave Ruf test-driver got it to an indicated 346kph on Thursday morning...........
PPS We were at the Ruf Annual Trackday at Hockenheim on Thursday and a customer stacked the blue Nardo RTurbo demonstrator into a concrete wall in a big-way.

Had the following done at the Ruf Factory (after Alois and Estonia Ruf bought us all lunch!):
550bhp/780nM conversion - which consists of clutch/bigger turbos/intake manifold/air filter/exhaust/ecu etc
Ruf Alcantara Steering Wheel
Ruf Floor Mats
Ruf Strutbrace
Porsche Carbon GT2 Rear Spoiler fitted by Ruf
Ruf Carbon/Kevlar bonnet
The bonnet and wing are being left as unpainted carbon, which looks good on a black car.
It was all done in 2.5 days, although the carpets and bonnet didn't arrive in time for fitting, so will be posted to my home for fitting.
It's quicker than before, revs to 7,200 and generally I see 1.1 to 1.2 bar boost, with an occasional 1.3 bar
It's badged RGT2 now..............
Guy
PS Vic, we always keep cash for the Belgian police ready. Last year they were thinking of shooting us for doing 160kph in an 80kph zone......

Sounds fantastic! I like the sound of the bare carbon on black.
What about the warranty side of things? Does that void the Porsche one or to RUF just take over cover for the components concerned?
Is the car due to be anywhere near leicestershire next weekend? If so look forward to seeing you and the car in action...it could make things very interesting at the upper end of the establisged Vmax range.

I doubt it. The 215mph was the digital speedo-reading, so more likely about 205mph in reality. Should be around the 200mph mark though at Brunters.
Tried lining up revs/ against KPH on digital and mph on speedo..............much harder than it sounds ! [My digital will not show mph]
Sounds like a real rocket ship you have. Looking forward to upping my 996TT to 510 bhp this Christmas. I have been done in Belgium coming back to the UK from the Ring. 500 Euros times 3 on the spot for Porker, TVR Griffith and Testerossa. We were cruising at about 150mph and would have got into France in 10 miles but there bikes caught us up when we slowed to 140mph (after 20min of chasing) We should never have slower down as in France they would have been out of their jurisdiction. Still they were very polite and we all felt it was a fair cop'. In the UK we would have lost our licences.
