Saw this yesterday, courtesy of a couple of free tickets.
Rather enjoyed it actually.

I was just coming here about this - iTunes alerted me to this

WTF?

Another movie re-made, one that didn't need remaking!

Are there no writers left in Hollywood? Are all the Producers & Directors head so far up their own arses that they think they can make better films than the originals, because they saw them as kids?

I'm not even sure they've tried to better the original. Just from the trailer they've done an almost direct scene-for-scene remake, barely worth the effort.

WTF is the point of this? It's not as if it's going to benefit from improvements in CGI.

I don't see the point? For what it is, the original was quite good, why bother remaking it?

Blatantly been made to join on the 'dance' film bandwagon that we're currently enduring.

Not seen the original for a while, one thing the mrs said was that this was slightly improved by showing the crash that triggered the whole anti dancing law at the start of the film.

Does it still have the immortal and hilariously brilliant scene where the main character vents his immense frustration via the medium of dance?
