Is it just me, or do films these days have it awfully quiet when people are talking then awfully loud when there is "action"??!?
I find this really annoying. In fact, I don't miss my 5.1 system because of this. The standard TV speakers are more mid-range focussed. Also, I am getting older...
It is VERY annoying - I always seem to watch a film with the sound remote clasped in my hand, to turn the volume down for action, and up for the talkie bits. At first, I thought it was because of the surround system, but I bought another at three times the price of the one it replaced, but the same happens!

Not as annoying as when they have advertisements much louder than the TV programme. That really grinds my gears!
My TV has a feature that stops it happening...BUT I've often complained about the speech being heard to hear since I got the same TV... I wonder if it's related... say it lowers the volume when someone blows something up, then it's too slow to react for the pithy comment afterwards.
