Candidate Specification
• The successful candidate will be a sales and marketing professional with a strong track record of sales achievement combined with demonstrable experience of developing effective distributor relationships.
• The appointee will have experience of managing sales teams and be able to demonstrate improved sales performance as a result. It is likely that they have operated at a senior level and therefore be familiar with managing budgets.
• Sector experience is critical and experience in capital sales is very beneficial, however candidates with related experience will also be considered.

• It is expected that candidates will have a graduate/post graduate level education. Candidates may come from science, engineering or commercial backgrounds.
• A key measure of sales expertise will be the ability to run a sales team in this type of market sector. The sales and application support team is comprised of technically adept people who are knowledgeable about the Company. The ability to motivate, assess and performance manager the team including making judgements about the value of their team contribution will be central to success.
• The mix of different sales processes is complex, as the Company offers products, servicing, consumables and partnership services; and the price mix and sales cycles for these differ significantly. Expertise and a track record of success in mid priced instrumentation capital equipment selling is vital.

• Capital equipment, typical price range £50K to £700K.
• Typical sales cycles for these sales, 3 to 12 month cycle with customer from inquiry/pitch to close.
