From the trailers this looks reasonably funny - let's hope we haven't seen all the funny bits already.

I was expecting this to be utterly dire.
Espionage comedies are usually wk. The comedy is hard to get right, the too silly/serious line is always awkward. The last one I think was the Piglett Files which was awful, the story follows the normal trope of a useless person who 'hilariously' gets mishired as a spy.
After saying all that I enjoyed the first episode. I though the smarter son was also a bit formulaic, but the son is genuinely a little st, so it worked for me.
I shall be watching the next episode.

Enjoyed it too - not perfect but better than expected.
You could see it had high production values as well which was a surprise.
Yeh, that's how I feel. I had very low expectations and they were surpassed by a great deal. You could see it had high production values as well which was a surprise.
It was nice to see money spent. I wasn't surprised because I have been watching all the new Sky production stuff with interest. They have pumped money into all new homegrown productions, I don't know what has changed at Sky, but I like it.
Trollied, Mount Pleasant, Strike Back...all good!

I think I read somewhere they are investing in more self-developed home grown output in order to move away from being seen as a channel which just broadcasts imported shows. It was nice to see money spent. Smart, if long overdue, move which I personally hope pays off.
I honestly think they have a chance at being a serious contender to ITV in terms of penetration.
Although you need to subscribe to cable or satellite to obtain Sky 1, the programmes eventually end up on Sky 3 which, I believe, is free to air so has a potentially wider audience.
As long as they keep up the quality of shows, I'll keep tuning in.
