Hi All,

I thought it would be a good idea for me to try this as a different approach to employment. I would like to convey my personality a little more here than would usually be found on my CV.

My name is Ryan and I’m an IT Infrastructure Engineer of 5+ years experience, I’m a petrol head at heart and would love to work with like minded people. a trackday as a Christmas doo would be awesome! I also, unsurprisingly love technology, it fascinates me.

I have a slightly different work ethic to most IT admins/engineers. I'm not the kind of person to sit around just looking after odd bits and bobs, I’m an all or nothing kind of guy. My ideal job would be to work for a medium sized company with a good IT budget where I would have the freedom and time to invest in keeping all systems, infrastructure & anything else in full working and tidy order and making everything 'my own' so to speak. I HATE messy cabling, I am prepared to spend hours making custom cables to fit racks out perfectly with no mess. I feel all ultimate responsibility regarding IT infrastructure should lie with me.

I'm a very level headed person, i like to provide best practice solutions and not cut corners at any expense as it always causes problems later on. If I don’t know things off the top of my head i always endeavour to find the information before presenting an answer, nothing is ever rushed.

Mutual respect and trust is very important, I cannot work for someone who has no respect and I cannot trust. These are both things that must be reciprocated, I give as I receive.

I have a vast range of experience in the following key technologies as well as many more:

Windows Server 2003/2008
McAfee EPO
Citrix Environment
Active Directory
Exchange 2003
DHCP Administration
Backup Exec
Juniper Firewalls
Group Policy
Websense/Surfcontrol
RSA Authentication
Radius Authentication
ISA/TMG
VMware Infrastructure
Avaya Telephony
Symbol Wireless Products
Cisco & 3Com Networking
Mac OSX
Linux Servers
SAN Administration

Salary
I'm not a greedy person, i only ask to be paid an average salary for my position, this is of course negotiable to some degree.

Current Position
I won’t lie here, I have recently been employed under false pretences into a company that lead me to believe they were investing a lot of money into IT and that I would be provided with everything I needed to progress my career. After a number of weeks it has become very clear this is not the case at all, staff are resigning left, right & centre, there is not a penny to spare and it has been a massive step back in terms of my responsibilities and I now feel completely over shadowed.

If you would like to discuss anything further with me please leave a message here.

Best Regards,

Ryan

Not that it adds much, but having met Ryan, I'd be fully confident in recommending him as a person, with a genuine, approachable nature.

It has been a very long time, hasn't it! All going well here, thanks. I hope all is well with you (bar the job issue above, of course!)
