Hi All,

I'm yet another long time lurker and I think it's time I contributed! I must say all names have been lavished upon my cars by my girlfriends!!!

It all started with Sebastian, This was my first car and i loved it. Sadly I dont have any pictures but it was a Mk4 Golf TDI (115bhp) that i had for 3 years, it was my first car and i loved it! did 80'000 miles in old Sebastian then traded him in for my second car, Blink. I wanted a fun car before the harsh reality of growing up hit me!

Blink was a Full Fat Clio 182 that I got with 38'000 on the clock for £6k. After wallowing around in the Golf the Clio was streets apart, I did 20'000+ miles in the Clio and loved every one, I didn’t appreciate how good it was until I sold it an moved onto my third current car. Sadly a change in job meant a lot more miles and the Clio didn’t enjoy doing them as much as I did, and my wallet loved doing them even less. I did enjoy many a trip out over the woodhead and snake pass in the Clio (live in Sheffield) and everytime I see one on the road I get a pang of jealousy seeing someone else in one, I really did love the car.

So in stepped my second Golf Mk4 but this time a GTI 25th Anniversary Model called Jake! He is in a diesel guise. I get 57mpg every day which is a god send and at standard it has 150bhp but it's also chipped (by the previous owner) to 180bhp ish. There's a toggle switch for the chip and you do notice a difference in throttle response and performance when you have it on but I'd only be guessing if I said what bhp that turns it up to, there's no plans to have old Jake on the rolling road and the only reason it stays on it it actually improved my mpg slightly!

It's a motorway cruiser for me and he spends all day there as his 110'000 will attest too.

I've just started a new job and plans to replace Jake with something a bit more spicey are already forging ahead. Yesterday I was wanting a Scirocco 2.0 (bit over the 10k budget) and today it's a Golf Mk5 GTI… it might change tomorrow as I try to strike a balance between fun, comfy and also something that looks the part (I have to give the right image turning up at my customers premisis and a skyline with a bodykit slapped to it doesn’t fit the part for me) - any suggestions would be much appreciated?

Thanks for reading!
