Spotted this whilst googling...

The 30mm Gatlin gun would come in useful on the M1, or the A10 for that matter.

rofl

The bumper cannon just completes it. Shouldn't have any problem clearing the outside lane.

Looks like they also paid extra to spec matt paint job..
I know it's about 17k on lambos /ferraris..wonder what it cost
On this baby..
I would imagine more as it probably had to go through a lot of r and d
as it's for a military spec vehicle..

Wasn't that van an in joke by a bunch of A10 pilots? Think I saw something saying it was built for a practical joke.

It was quite common amoung pilots of RAF sqns to have their 'own' sqn vehicle. Albeit not to this standard biggrin

For example. 9 Sqn had a london black cab Taxi (I remember the 31sqn aircrew stealing its wheels and putting it on bricks, then putting the wheels on the trail flight out to Nellis, lol). 31 Sqn had a old skool merc (D class iirc), black with a big Goldstar sticker on it and the green/yellow chequers.

This beauty was liberated from the Argentine forces in 1982 and now resides at RAF Cosford.

Apparently it spent some time operating on various RAF bases in Germany and when it developed a gearbox fault, Mercedes Benz declined to provide spares as it had never been paid for by Argentina.

A spare gearbox was "sourced" by other means. Unfortunately DVLA refused to register the vehicle on return to the UK (something about not having a code for "spoils of war") so it was donated to the museum at Cosford and stands next to a Pucara (also acquired in 1982 following "aggressive negotiations").
