Didn't know such a thing had been thought of, let alone actually done. I bring you, the RR Phantom replica - yours for £25,000.

Seller says:

"White Rolls Royce Phantom replica the base car is a 1987 Bentley Turbo RL which is the long wheelbase model which was selected because of the low milege, the car currently has 44,000 on the clock with lots of history, the body kit was imported from America as they are not available in this country, the car sits on original Rolls Royce Phantom alloy wheels with run lat tyres and self levelling wheel centres, it has an excellent full leather interior in parchment with blue lambswool carpets, the car is currently on SORN but will come with six months tax and 12 months MOT and will have a Rolls Royce/Bentley specialist service prior to selling. I have used this car for weddings and it attracts lots of attention where ever it goes. Sadly I am now too busy to carry on with the weddings and I am looking at buying a Range Rover for winter so I need the space. I may take a Range Rover as PX"

I can see it working as a wedding car, for the undiscerning (like those who don't know, or care, that a Beaufort isn't a real Vintage car, it does it's job). Bloody horrific thing outside of carriage trade though.

Well, as the OP said, sort of. The body kit came from the US, and they're usually for a Chrysler 300C.

It's nowhere near as convincing as the Ferrari 355 body kits on a Toyota MR2...

This is more like the Ferrari F40 made from a Suzuki...

Apart from the classic RR proportions being all wrong (f - r overhang & wheel height to body height) it might look like a real one to the layman.

Goes without saying, there's no shortage of folks who think a 300C with the Bentley grille/badge set is a Bentley hehe

I've been looking at wedding cars, and what has staggered me is the number of companies that refer to the Chrysler 300C as "Baby Bentley" on their websites!

There was a thread in GG about one a year or three back. The website referred to it as a 'baby' Bentley all the way through their advert, and various other sales & marketing promotional material. A definite breach of trading standards, can you imagine if someone thought it really was a Bentley, booked it, and only realised it was a 300C with Bentley badges on the day?

To many people that the "baby Bentley" looks a bit Bentley'ish and has Bentley on the badging and the odd flying B, is enough to make the assumption that it is a Bentley, the automotive equivalent of a fake Rolex.

Let’s face it, there are sad wkers people out there claiming body kitted MR2s are F355's, poorly built and detailed kit cars are Bugatti’s or Ferraris, or even just rebadging low end BMW's as high end, just to try and create the illusion that they are wealthy, when the reality is, they aren’t and their “wealth” is nothing more than smoke and mirrors and many of the people they are trying to impress simply wander away laughing

As for the phantom phantom, there ARE going to be plenty of people wanting to use it as a wedding car . . . . . if only because from 50 yards and with the ribbons flapping in the wind, it would look close enough and it would no doubt be charged out at a substantial discount over the real thing.

And just because this is Pistonheads . . . . It’s a repost hehe

I only remembered it as if its the car I'm thinking of it used to be owned by a coach trimmer, the last time there were some pics of the interior, which whilst maybe not to everyones taste was very nicely done smile

I suppose if it says so on the tin, then fair enough. Do you think it looks a bit like a Bentley though? I don't. It's a dead ringer for a Rover P5 though.

That's what I was thinking.

If I ever end up getting a Phantom I'm going to have it converted to look like a Bentley Turbo.
