Victory By Design, Discovery Turbo

Just by chance came across this program today, Victory By Design, on Discovery Turbo. Presented by Alain De Cadenet, it's a series of hour long programs detailing the history of various classic marques, very much focussing on the driving experience of their classic cars. The one I watched, about Ferrari, was a marvellous treat. Devoid of music, it really lets the viewer hear the sound of the cars, and at times there are long periods without any narration at all, just great shots of De Cadenet taking a variety of classics (Testarossa/250 SWB/GTO/Dino/P4 etc) for a spin. The whole thing is shot very well and you get some good walkarounds of each car.

The commentary that he does give is great, plenty of detail on how each car came about and just the right depth when it comes to describing the technical aspects.

A must watch for classic car enthusiasts, and definitely the best bit of motoring tv i've seen in a while.
