Anyone with a 2002 car onwards might want muse on this one!.... (fortunately I have a 2001 )

Uh...now the bad news.

The filter is part of the left tank's fuel sender assembly. Removal of
the left tank is required to remove the sender and replace the filter.
Tank removal requires removal of the driveline, transmission and axle.

Stupid f***ing General Motors!!! What in the hell were those people
thinking?

02-04 C5ers better hope to keyrist they don't have a problem with
contaminated fuel plugging the filter. It won't be covered under warranty
as responsibility for fuel quality is the owner's.

BTW there seems to be a view that if you small hands and are used to working in really confined spaces it IS possible to do this without dropping the tank. Sounds like a job for the wife then!
