I have a rather old 32 inch Thompson LCD
this looks a great bargain

http://www.hyperfi.co.uk/samsung-ready-freeview-wi...

we will only use it for DVD's and watching freeview.
No bluray or sky etc

How good do you think it will be / And will it be better to buy a smaller LCD

Led etc is not anything special and not worth the extra cost to us.

Do not need 3d as i get the same effect after a glass of red wine !

cheers

Indeed, a lot of TV for the money, but it's not 1080p.

The lack of 1080 is completely irrelevant then, if not a bonus.

True that, missed that bit. Still, I'd far rather have 1080p than not, and there's plenty of similar sized sets out there for not a lot more. Given BluRay players cost beans, plenty of computers etc can output at 1080p, and so on, it seems daft to hamstring the whole thing with into the future, even if it's not a concern in the present.

Still, as said, lots of telly for the monies etc.

Its a bargain basement tv and is alot of TV for the money. You will find the picture quality is rather poor compared to other sets but you get what you pay for.

I'm no technical expert, but the line in the ad 'This product is currently out of stock' might be relevant. Thinking about it, on this same basis I would like to offer it at £99. Not sure when I'll have it in though.

Ah didn't see that... something I never understood with some companies, if its not in stock kill the link and don't allow them to click on it or have it in bold writing that is not easy to miss.

They should be made to prove that they have sold, do sell, or definitely will sell products at advertised prices.
