Is something available to let my wife play her iPod in her R53 Cooper S 2004?

Maybe a lead or a kit, etc?

Thanks.

Yes absolutely, there is the cheap version which is effective a phono cable that goes into the 'aux' pins on the back of the stereo, or if you want to spend the cash, there is a full interfacing kit. Apologies I cant remember the link but if you go to www.minitorque.com the info is all on there....

Excellent - thanks for that.

I shall have a look with a torch and see if I can find out where to plug it in.

Or you could do what I did and spend £10 buying a ipod transmitter that plugs into the fag lighter and transmits the ipod music via radio. No problem to set up and still working 4 years on - it was so good my OH got one too. I think I got it from Amazon, you can probably pick them up for peanuts now.

Is there any particular brand you would recommend?

Thanks.

We have a lead in our head unit which has replaced the multiplay cd from the boot. Was fitted when we bought the car. I took out the cd player in the boot, so a little more space. Previously I bought a blaupunkt lead for my lotus to attach the ipod to the aux and was about £8 of fleabay, but may not be the same style, so wont be that expensive, I am sure. Have used the FM transmitter style in the past and as you travel, you might have to keep reprogramming a differing frequency to get a clear reception, which was a pain, so we binned it.

Yep same here, in London it's next to useless

I have never had to re-programme mine and I often travel between Liverpool, Bedford and York. Same frequency for the entire round trip. Only time it needed re-programming was around Southampton.

I will have a look at the make when I get home and put it up here.

So, I bought a wireless style kit, but it simply doesn't work. I tuned it in as per the instructions and it works for a few miles and then 'loses' the frequency so it's time to look at something else.

All I think I need is a lead to plug in the back of the unit - we're happy to control it directly from the iPod.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks.

FM transmiter things are a pile of wk frown they allways loose signal and then when you do get it right there's this annoying high frequency wyne in the background! frown
