I'd forgotten just what a good film this was. Bill Forsyth really captures the moment of the times.

Some cheap jokes and laboured scenes but none the less a good un' for the times.

I always liked it. Saw it in the cinema when it was new.

What's happened to Bill Forsyth since. He directed a whole bunch of decent films, most with a Scottish theme, and then faded away.

I was visiting friends in Aberdeen just before it came out. There was almost a feeding frenzy of Oil Money around the streets, thus a palpable resentment to those involved. All very weird.
