Having only recently passed my driving test, 2nd time lucky on the 30th November, a friend of mine who's dad sells cars took a 2000 X reg XJR in part exchange, i have never took much interest in Jags to be honest, especially when it comes to the R models, i was always in the BMW M car camp; anyhow, i was very surprised when my mates dad said to me, "you fancy having a go", i iffed and rr'd a bit but i thought, "yeah why not", see what all the fuss is about, after a quick 15 minute drive i rather liked it, a lot, firstly for a big girl she really did shift but what i enjoyed the most was the comfort, it was like sitting in an arm chair all i needed was a cigar biggrin, the ride was super smooth as was the gear changes.

So would i buy one? if i wanted a bargain barge with a V8 engine that i could just waft around in, hell yeah.

Very glad i have experienced a Jag and i am now converted towards the big cat.

Adam....you are funny! I would love to see you in an XJR and about time you passed your test....I mean, at 18 you've wasted s whole year's worth of driving!

Get yourself round to mine and after a ride in my new XKR you'll forget all about your craze for Maserati's wink

To all Jag owners reading this.....Melvster is a thoroughly decent chap and his friends are not of the Saxo-driving variety (that was more me when I was his age 15 years ago and look where I am now....driving a pimped-up Jag!!).

Me in an XJR, you should have seen it, seat in the upright position, looked about 6ft 9inch tall, one hand on the wheel, the other resting on the door card, cigar in my mouth, sheepskin coat on with my golf bats in the boot biggrin

All good, apart from the sheepskin coat which is a bit Arthur Daley/Ron Manager. Time for a trip to the tailor!
