It's apparently been broadcast since 1983, why can't we have sounds of the 70's or 80's??

I know the 60's was a ground breaking decade for music in this country but give us a break, change the record as it were.

Try Jonnie Walker on Sunday afternoons wink
I believe that SOTS has one of the highest listener figures on R2 (can't remember where I heard that though).
Brian Matthew is quite annoyingly obsessed with death though!

Probably because many of the performers he plays are of the age where they are heading for that great jam session in the sky.

I used to listen to Sound of the 60s a lot but grew tired of it eventually. I quite like Sound of the 70s on Sunday, mailnly because of Johnny (who's a bit of a petrolhead - despite his "old hippy" persona) and the fact that he often plays album tracks that passed me by when I was a teenager in the 70s.
