If you are the happy owner of a black / black leather red rose Tuscan (VIN 1705 - was registered Y164 GDU), I have your under tray.

It some how got left behind in my garage when I part exchanged the car in 2007 ... now having a clearout, so let me know if you would like to reunite it with the car !

Cheers
Ian

I hope they aren't driving round without it wondering why their car handles so badly!

Does the tray have enough strength to affect handling

I took mine for MOT without it once after I'd fitted the cats and could definitely feel a difference.

Looking at my under tray i can't see it giving the chassis much more rigidity,
If the tray does do this then i would say fit a stronger brace across the chassis would improve it even more

The under tray is what holds/ mounts the inner front anti roll bar .

With the tray removed the roll bar will not do its job so will have a poorer turn in and feel less sharp on the front end.

found a pic of my car while i carried out resto to complete car , here shows clearly the tray missing and how it holds the roll bar

from wheel well view , you can see the inner roll bar bushed fit into chassis and the under tray clamps holds them in solid

The roll bar has separate clamp plates that fit over the under tray. I had those on without the undertray so the rollbar was doing it's job.

My car is heavily modified Roush/Crower Ls 5.7 engine and T56 box Tuscan (S6)
I never understood the OEM gearbox cross-member
I have a cross-member bolted to each chassis rail and the rubber mount between the member and the gearbox
rather than the pic above were the bottom rails are not braced from the diff to the front ARB because of the gearbox rubbers

It'd be interesting to see what TVR used on the bottom of the T400/T440 chassis if anyone knows. I know they used additional bracing above the engine to tie the suspension points together.
