Where I went to junior school there was a train line that carried tanks of various fuels from the BP storage depot onto the main line that ran right past our playground..

The little shunter was called Hunslet, I fondly remember the little green train chugging past.

The Brighton train thread got me thinking so I googled, what a great company!

Used to pass the "old" works on Jack Lane a lot back in the 70's and 80's. Massive place with only the Office block left since it shut in 1995. I think the Site is now owned by Yorkshire Switchgear which is part of the Schneider Electric Group.

I think we have something similar at work that moves flasks to the railhead so the big trains can take them to Sellafield.

I also used to pass the Jack lane works in the 70's when I was a student living in the short-lived Hunslet Grange flats. There were still remnants of the other locomotive manufacturers in those days.
