Another daily mail scare story!
Airbus have issued a notice to airlines saying the crack's are nothing to worry about and are on a part of the wing that has little stress, nand should be attended to when the Aircraft is due for their C check.
It appears to be on the A/C that are around 4 years old and due their checks soon, the crack's found are on 1 wing spar and less than 1cm long.

I thought it was scaremongering when i read about it on aviation week, but then i saw this chap interviewed on telly here in Australia http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16452878 he seemed pretty adamant about it being unsafe and in the longer version of the interview i saw on the ABC he was pretty damming of the european and Austrlian safety authorities.
I'm still going to try to get my flight changed to one when i fly back home at the end of the month though, im so sick of 744's spoilt i know.
