Panasonic G20 and Humax HDR-T2

So we've had a Panasonic P42G20 for about a year, it's HDMI connected to a Panasonic DVD recorder and internet connected , meaning we're on the latest firmware (2.710). All works fine,

we wanted an HD recorder so I got the Humax HDR-T2, and tried to connect via HDMI, but get a brief flicker of a channel and then the screen goes green. I understand this is an HDCP handshake error over HDMI, yet I can find no specific issues for a G20 and t2 online. I've tried 2 different HDMI cables, all humax output resolutions from 576i upwards to 1080p, turning HDCP off and onto Auto on the TV, but no joy. The Humax is on the current firmware aswell so I'm stuck, and about to send the Humax back.


having tried the humax on a small TV with HDMI it works!!! Humax and Panasonic support are slow, so can anyone offer any advice or suggestions? thanks
