Does anyone know if ESPN UK are carrying the NHRA coverage again this year?

seems likely, it going back to C5 feels a little optimistic.

We get it free and on demand on BT vision (free view)

If you have freeview with a slot you can get cheap or free card I think

I currently have an LG 25LG3000 tv, and if I go to the espn channel it flashes up saying "scrambled channel"

I googled "watch espn on freeview" and found this:

http://www.topuptv.com/ciplus/

I dont think that cost includes the exoorbitant monthly subscription to the channel though, so screw them!

Don't use topuptv I tried it and you can only watch Espn between 11am and midnight. Useless when the NHRA coverage is normally shown early morning or middle of the night.

Avoid.

If ESPN show the 2012 season I would strongly recommend trying to get ESPN one way or another as the coverage is excellent, especially in HD. The production values are very high and it is a joy to watch.

I attempted the "top Up TV' route originally and obtained a card to put in the back of my TV. However, it did not work and after some investigation on the internet I found out that Panasonic TV's of my type / age needed firmware upgrades or something in order for the top up card to work properly. Panasonic didn't want to know and the Top Up tv people referred me back to Panasonic. So I ditched that route.

In the end I basically bought a Virgin Cable TV package with no sport. However, I could add on ESPN for £10 per month. I did this purely for the NHRA drag racing. For me, its an extra £10 per month well spent (and one gets the odd Premiership game and other sports such as rugby of course, if that's of any interest). We record each event onto the Virgin hard drive box in High Def and it is one of our highlights of viewing mid week (lets face it there's not much on TV these days!). As a drag racing fan, I would give up a fair few things before losing the ability to watch the whole season in HD for a tenner a month.

ESPN on freeview now runs from 2pm until 4am weekdays and 11am until 4am on weekends Dan which is enough to cover pretty much all of the NHRA coverage throughout the year. I think there were possibly two or three qualifying shows that were cut short throughout the season and maybe one round of promod missed.

£9.99 for the CAM from Comet to slot in the back of your TV, plus £20 to connect it, but you should get the first month free on that deal, so it should only cost you £30 for the first month and a tenner or so thereafter.

I was thinking of chucking it in over winter and only paying for it during the racing season but have become somewhat of a College Football addict since.

As an aside to this, quick heads up there's drag racing on Motors TV at the mo. 'Life in the fast lane' following Rod Fullers Abu Dhabi backed outings and 'Every Second Counts' with footage of the Fuller/Urbacher runs at Yas Marina. Some good stuff, i'll not list specific times as they're both on rotation for the rest of the week or so.

Yeah sportsman coverage is on ESPN America on Monday 20th February.

Take a look here and search NHRA...

http://tv.espn.co.uk/gb/espl/tv-schedule/#all

I doubt you will see any Pro Mod coverage as Roger Burgess is no longer title sponsor and has shut up shop by the looks of things.
