Just posting to help anyone with a monaro and a baby on the way with what I found fit as let's be honest they are not idea family cars, although my big boot model helps.

CV8, the mamas papas 0-6 months base attached using rear seat belts with the primo viaggo range won't fit. The rear belts not long enough.

Maxi cosi easybase2 fits great in the back both width of the rear buckets and the cars seat belt, decent bit of kit and the relevant maxi cosi group seat.

For 6 months + I looked at a few but the recaro young sport circa £140-£150 fits great, its narrow enough to fit nicely within the seat, monaro belts are long enough to attach and I ordered black on black and looks good in the sea of black leather monaros have.

Ps. Avent milk bottles fit perfectly in the dash cup holders ;-)

I searched for a while to find monaro specific advice on baby and child seats so just posting up my findings for any future dads, you don't need to get rid of a 2 door coupe with bucket rear seats when a child is on the way, you just need the right equipment.

Besides nothing helps kids sleep like a v8 burble.

As we're expecting our first child in September we decided to go baby seat shopping in the 'ro this weekend. I'd specifically book marked this thread with the intention of checking out the Maxi-Cosi range. It fits as previously mentioned, but the fitter said he wouldn't recommend it because of the angle of the reat seats would mean a baby in there would never be comfortable and wouldn't be able to sleep. Any of you guys have this problem?

I'm thinking about making a foam wedge to strap to the seat to make it level, but if not the alterntive is a Graco Logico seat and base, which has an adjustable wedge on the base to level it out to a more sensible angle and therefore fits in quite nicely. But that one won't fit in out chosen travel system. grrr! smile

I didn't have any issues with the angle mate using the maxi cosi, if you did want to adjust it you can buy a foam circular tube about 2 inch diameter you wedge it at the back, some people roll up and old towel.

Like the OP I'm using a Recaro young sport, it's the only one I found that fits well. Some seats won't even fit through the gap between the folded front passenger seat and the B-pillar/roof!

Cool, thanks for the input guys. I'll stick with the Maxi Cosi that we're buying for the ohter halfs car for now then, and when I'm using the Monaro a bit more for the little'un after 9 months I'll look into getting the Recaro smile

I'm using the recaro start as found its a great fit and base folds up to get it in the back. Just having it modified at the moment so will post some pics when I get it back.

Baby still not quite ready it seems, now booked in to be induced on Friday the 13th! We've missed one dodgy date and hit another.

Thanks Melchett. I'd read conflicting stories on the ISOFIX points in a CV8, so removed the rear seats a month or so back and definitely nothing hiding under there! There did seem to be a top mounting point though under the headrests.

I think the issue is solved now, so thanks to all that chipped in smile
