ArnageWRC said: Meeke is a talent – sadly lacking funds for a drive. He impressed last year – up against drivers with 3/4/5 years worth of experience in WRCars. His years in a S1600 don’t really count – making notes in a WRCar are different to in a WRCar. His off in France was because of his notes – this year was meant to be about getting more experience of the events & making notes. There’s a reason why the PSA Group have used him for testing – as well as being a quick driver, he’s a qualified engineer. But would you choose him over Sordo? I'm not doubting that Meeke is talented I just think Sordo would be better.

Well new promoter announced - Red Bull Media House & Sportsman Media. Gravel note crews allowed & calendar for next year approved. Teams only have to compete in 1 non European event and have to take part in a minimum of 7 rounds to qualify for the championship. So far so good.

So, so happy this has finally been sorted out and the sport can move on from this shocking mess! If Red Bull can promote downhill mountain biking through a hay field then im sure they can do a great job with the WRC!
But as we keep saying, the first thing they HAVE to do is get the sport on free TV again!

A good news day for WRC then.
I still stand by my feeling that Loeb is leaving just as things are getting interesting and some real competition is coming online. I'd love to see the 2 Sebs going head to head.
I'm guessing Loeb might do a Kimi in reverse, yet I doubt we will see Loeb do a full season of F1 anytime soon.
I'd like to see Kubica in a WRC car, but not as much as I'd like to see him back in F1....

Yes certainly seems like there is finally some sense being made over in WRC towers. It is a fantastic sport, it just needs to show everyone.

All in all a good few days of news in the WRC world. More cars being developed to enter is always a good thing! I hope prodrive can get the backing they need, then go on to upstage the BMW backed Motorsport Italia minis!! I'm neither here nor there about Loeb leaving, obviously he's had enough of the sport and tbh who wouldn't get to that point after the same dominance in a sport? Still I wish him the best as he actually is a nice guy! I'm more interested now in hearing who is going where, who's staying put, and who else is coming onboard driver & teams?! One thing that has bugged me a bit about the news however is the renaming of swrc & pwrc to FIA WRC-2 & FIA WRC-3. It just sounds like they are promoting the conputer games! I'm glad that the academy is going back to jwrc tho, but would rather it be as it was before and not jut a single manufacturer. That way it brings an extra level of competition and excitement to it.

Its time for WRC France. Loeb basically has this title in the bag and he won't want a mistake so for that reason I'm calling Sordo as the winner. He was fastest in shakedown as well.
Top 10 shakedown times
1 Dani Sordo (MINI) 2m34.1s
2 Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) 2m34.4s
3 Petter Solberg (Ford) 2m35.0s
4 Sebastien Loeb (Citroen) 2m35.5s
5 Thierry Neuville (Citroen) 2m35.7s
6 Mikko Hirvonen (Citroen) 2m37.5s
= Nasser Al-Attiyah (Citroen) 2m37.5s
8 Mads Ostberg (Ford) 2m38.0s
9 Evgeny Novikov (Ford) 2m39.4s
10 Ott Tanak (Ford) 2m40.0s.

Seb has said he hoped for an easy ride on his home event stage time table was all to cock so i simplified it

So not a huge amount to talk about with Loeb leading by 13.1 now. Would have been closer but JML lost time going wide on one bend, and is losing time on the muddy sections.
In the Academy Evans leads by 1m41! Fisher is sadly out with engine failure.

Yea great fight between to highly talented youngsters!
Petter Solberg has gone off and is out, taking down a telegraph pole! It really hasnt worked out for Petter this year, it really wouldnt surprise me if Ostberg got his seat for 2013.
Live coverage continues with ss10 in a couple minutes.

Some people are speculating that Petter had a stuck throttle as it is weird how he goes off the road and keeps on plowing on into the pole!
Hope the spectators are not too badly injured.

his onboard just got posted to FB https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embed...you cant even tell he crosses the road from the onboard. and seeing his right leg flat to the floor even as he left the road doesnt look to me like the accelerator was stuck unless it got un stuck in the impact with the pole as he seems to drive off fine after, before realising his steerings kaput!
