Always fascinated by Gilberns having been born in South Wales. I will say no more :-)
Probably 35 years ago I watched a Genie compete on the FRAM Welsh rally and I've recently fancied the idea of buying an Invader as I reckon that, well sorted, it is a car thet could be a useful weapon on historic rallies (well after all the Darrian has Welsh roots)>

I *think* someone *may* have decided 18 months ago to buy up any Gilberns that came up for sale. The collection is estimated *I think* to be circa 40 cars (the Club has a better idea of actuals) ... the scheme was based on market forces, supply and demand.
I understand there may be a garage full of Maserati BiTurbos close by :-)
Given 12 cars have been advertised in one go - probably more than seen in a while - the real question is how much each individual car goes for. Some would cost more to restore than a good example would to buy .....
After some recent magazine articles the prices of cars went up - but this could also have been driven by the man above also trying to buy the same cars ...
Gilberns are for people who genuinely love the cars ...
1) Nearly every car will have either had documented chassis repairs or if not will need them - not an easy task for the untrained ...
2) Either buy a wreck and factor the cost of repairs or buy one with history/provenance. The Club has records on most cars and it was actually very kind of the vendor to list the chassis numbers on Ebay.
Their hillclimb pedigree is well documented ...
