Political nepotism
Discussion
I was reading an article that suggested Jeb Bush could be a future presidential nominee.
I haven't thought about it in too much depth but something doesn't sit right with me that potentially a father and both of his sons can hold the most powerful position in the USA.
What are the odds that 3 men from the same family are considered the 'best man for the job' in a country with a population of over 300million?

Tbh, what are the odds that one of them was/is? Not that it's any different in most countries, but not much in politics seems to be based on actual ability.Stevenj214 said:

It seems about as unlikely as in F1,I haven't thought about it in too much depth but something doesn't sit right with me that potentially a father and both of his sons can hold the most powerful position in the USA.

Your not suggesting its a money thing connecting F1 drivers to their career, same as Presidential Candidates;) Worrysome that the U.K. follows however America conducts political business, already we are seeing the seeds of 'razzmatazz'in our General Elections. Watered down politics showered in glitz. Wonder if anyone in here will agree, its a downward trend of dumbing down politics - Graham Hill - Damon Hill

Well, Oliver Cromwell fought long and hard to rid this country of the political nepotism of the monarchy and then promptly appointed his son, his successor!
But like Julius Caeser he was at least smart enough not to take the title of King.Jeb by the way was always supposed to be presidential candidate of the family I believe. I can't remember the story why he didn't run but W did but in doing so Jeb was supposed to support his brother anyway he could. Which judging by the result may have been exactly what he did.

Didn't his daughter run into a little trouble with the drugs squad? We were in Daytona when George W flew down to support him. A lot of men in suits with wiggly earpieces took over the hotel. Had a boot full of bottled water for the mechanics. Sniffer dogs licked EVERY bottle top.Jeb by the way was always supposed to be presidential candidate of the family I believe. I don't think it's really comparable.
Politicians have speech writers, and campaign advisors. Race car drivers don't have stunt doubles. They have to do the hard stuff all by themselves.
Also the above lists are only comparable if all the drivers are world champions. Many families have sibling in the same industry. But to get to be numbero uno, is something else.Politicians have speech writers, and campaign advisors. Race car drivers don't have stunt doubles. They have to do the hard stuff all by themselves.
