Sorry if this seems a stupid question but i have not worked in the UK for some time and am out of touch with the regs now
I have been working for a company in the UK for 18 months or so i resigned yesterday and was informed i only had 3 days holiday pay due ???

I had carried over 6 days from last year and also had the full 20 days allocation ?

So your holidays owed will be the 6 days carried forward plus the 20 days pro-rata for this year (i.e. you will get a proportion of this year's leave entitlement based on how much you've actually worked).

Have a chat with your employer about how they've calculated the leave entitlement. If you can't come to an agreement you need to submit a written grievance and/or Employment Tribunal. The link below may help.

The six days may not count either, there is no obligation on a company to carry forwards holiday from the previous year, it's more 'use it or lose it'. So my guess would be that 3 days is your pro-rata amount for the amount of this year that you have worked.

you carried across 6 days from last year, so I assume you only took 14 days of the 20 days you were given as you worked for them.

you have not even worked a full month this year so you are entitled to 1.67 days.

the 6 days you carried is at their discretion and they decided to give you 3 days pay instead of the almost 2 you have accumulated this year.

(This is all assuming that the holiday period is Dec to Dec in your company, please do correct if its not)
