My previous thread was deleted as the mods thought it might decend in to a torrent of abuse, before there was any suggestion that it would (sentenced without trial!)

How do I find out feedback on this business? Could someone PM me or only post non derogatory comments please?

Ta.

I've bought and sold parts via ebay to glen/dean .. never had a problem. I might be in a minority but on my past experience i'd certainly do business with them again.

I'm thinking of getting an unprepared car and getting repaired at a more local specialist

I've visited them, as pass that way occassionaly. They sell mostly salvage, if you go on the assumption the car may need more doing than initially thought, and get it at a reasonable price, could be a cheap way into TVR ownership,(probably not once repair costs taken into account, unless you can do most of the work yourself.)The bodywork they were doing when I visited was of a good standard.
Overall, if they satisfy a demand, you go in with eyes wide open, know what your buying, and at the end the day, may keep another TVR on the road.

I guess reputations generally get earned!, you ain't going to be popular on these pages by scrapping tvrs at a sizeable profit!

I bought some nitons from them 18 months ago, quite pricey but my choice. The goods were as described, received promptly, well wrapped etc and I was happy with the deal. Prices are very high but you don't have to buy from them!!

They are running a business where like any they try to ensure they are making a decent profit. So buy low, sell high is the name of the game I guess.

Buying from any scrappy means you need to buy with your eyes open and take into account that you wont have the normal 'sale of goods act' based customer service etc..

I personally would ignore their 'you can fix this car up for £500 including paint' and would carefully inspect a crash damaged car to ensure that doesnt require additional repairs eg chassis and then would get it fixed elsewhere. .

Ultimately I dont think that there are many bargains to be had by the time you take into account the cat c/d status.

I would say there is plenty of money to be made from salvage , if you know what your doing its not a place for ritch beginners. and i would agree that you should go into salvage with your eyes wide open.if you buy a pill its your fault and it pays to know what your looking at and from what i have seen and read on here most you have not got a clue, and blab on about stuff you no nothing about.

I needed to source a centre chassis tray for my speed 6, apparently they are very hard to find.
One phone call to TVR Dean and the parts arrived within 3 days.
I understand some people feel that there ethics may be questioned but at the end of the day they offer a service that enables people like me to keep my car running.
Some parts are now very rare and I for one appreciate there help.

Same here. Firm on price but fair, very reasonable bloke with a well sourced knowledge of TVR`s.

What some people fail to understand is there`s very little chance of polishing a salvage cat C/D back to health, go in with your eyes open and be prepared for the unexpected then you won`t be disappointed .
