Im currently going through a HR jobs worth that insists I have both of the above sent into them or I can't have my 2nd round interview at a company.

I don't have the result anymore (11+ years since I left Uni why would I have lesser grades certs now???) and can't really think where they could be other than at my folks house.

If they are not there who would have a copy?

No I can't guess the results as someone else has just had a job offer pulled as they got a GCSE result wrong.

Company will be great to work for... HR seems to be a bh to go through.

Recently had to obtain copies too. Do you remember which exam board each exam was with? You'll need to contact the relevant exam boards and request replacement certificates, be warned though there not cheap.

Christ, remind me never to try and work for a British company. My US employers (on my 3rd in 14 years) have never even asked for a degree certificate. If I sent them A or GCSE certs they'd have no idea what it was.

After the other thread on this subject recently, I called home, and they are still in the filing cabinet, but I never, ever, expect to use them.

And yes, HR will roger you sideways over the barrel every chance they get. Get used to it, I'm afraid...

C at GCSE and that to me was very hard and I had to be tutored. wink

science and tech I can do.... english and the arts is beyond me...

I try to word things in such a way that they look correct to me and make sense, quite often I make mistakes...

Luckily for me this company wants me for my technology understanding rather than my ability to write a sentence.

I think it is highly unlikely that your school will hold copies, although they *may* be able to verify them for an employer - I guess that just depends on how long ago you left school and whether their filing system back then is still accessible.

What the school should/will be able to tell you is the examination board(s) - you may find that that different subjects used different boards.

!! - you're in Banking/Finance? I can't remember the last time HR asked for GCSE results .. the market really has tightened up. Usually the highest qualification is all they ask for i.e. PhD or M if you have them. Oh, and before Eric makes a smart-arse comment - i got 2 As wink

Correct on Banking/Finance

This is a weird one simply down to the fact its HR causing the issues, never before in 10+ years have I been asked anything other than did you get a degree, masters, phd... good that is enough for us.

At the moment my parents can't remember where they put the documents as they kept them for sentimental reasons and have now lost them, which is not idea so I now need to negotiate with the company about being able to do the interview as the replacements can take up to 28 days and thats including just a statement of reference to tell the company that I did in fact get A-levels and GCSEs.

It might not just be HR. I went through the process in December with a few companies and it was a bit of a 'mare. Roles were either not signed-off fully, or they changed the terms of employment at the very last minute after final interview. Normally they don't even require checks to be completed before your Start Date, let alone a 2nd interview.
