The new McVities advert using the Muppet song, brilliant, but I wish they'd used the original version.

The Vodafone/Netflix ad. When the guy is watching Top Gun and Tom Cruise says 'Talk to me Goose' and the Goose in the farmyard honks makes me smile. Other than that it's not very good.

I usually hate ads which try to scream "look at me, look how quirky I am. I'm so zany" which applies to far too many.

But I can't help liking the new "Money Supermarket" one with the elephant being steered by a wheel, to the strains of Cameo's "Word Up". Good music choice. Bring back the red leather codpiece, I say.

This one isn't bad. Won't say what it's for as that would be a spoiler.

yes

Very good little ad. Would not have guessed until the reveal at all.

Wonderful. A real classic. Up there with Carlos Fandango.

Don't care what it advertises, and don't care for some of the advert.
But I love the goose when he skims the surface of the lake, that is ace.

Not sure anyone's mentioned it (and there are still far too many models preening themselves in their underwear - OK, I know you won't all see that as bad, but it just seems lazy to me), but M&S latest ad really seems to have upped their game and got a lot cooler.

Maybe it doesn't if you're under 50 biggrin

I think these are very good, I can see the benefit of what they are saying even though the people they are aimed at may not.
This is the first thing I've seen where positive information, that should be coming from parents and teachers is being offered without an obvious agenda other than 'make yourself better'.

Love this ad, watched it three times already and had a lump in my throat first time around.

Probably because I'm soft as s**t, mind you, but I still think it's brilliantly done.

Apologies if any of my favourites have already been mentioned....

M&Ms one from recently...."YOU get in the bowl!" makes me laugh every time.

EDF Energy with Zingy the orange blob - I have a cardboard cutout of him stuck on my kitchen wall.

The original Compare the Meerkat ones were funny (the campaign has been going on wayyyyy too long now though).

The Smirnoff "triple distilled" one with all the undersea wreckage flying out onto the land leaving totally clear seawater - very cleverly done and I don't think all of it was CGI.

Sony Bravia (I think) with the paint fountains flying out of the buildings - I, like most others, had thought that was all computerised and was very impressed when I found out it was real.

But my favourite ads ever have to be the Carling Black Label "Dambusters" ones from a while ago, both the dam/goalkeeper and the swimming pool ones. Superb.

Just re-opening this thread for something which isn't actually an advert, but a trailer on the Beeb for Crufts 2015. You've probably all seen the one with different breeds with appropriate music for each one.

For the St.Bernard it's Big Barry White, and yes, yes, yes that's so right. All the dog needs is to wipe it's brow with a silk hankie. Big Barry the lurv machine - the late great Barry who helped me so much*when I was a young 'un. Thanks Barry. Rest in Peace, big man.

  • We all did it. Big Barry in the background when the girlfriend came round and our parents were out. Guaranteed success.
