Me too. I wasn't even a runner when i joined here and I'm not yet a triathlete (unless training all threee counts)!
By the way, you weren't helping to marshall the White Horse sportive (if that's what it's called) down at Latton last weekend were you? There was a nice black Audi RS parked up and I'm sure one marshall called the other Grahame/Graeme as i left. If it was you i was in my PH jersey having accidentally unexpectedly run headlong into said sportive!

Both us at that marshal spot are called Graeme (Graham in the case of the other)
Fergal, who runs the WHC is a good mate of mine as I used to work with him at Honda R&D

Not been on here for some time, is anyone racing IMUK this year? I can't imagine I'm the only one from PH.
I did last year and will probably do this year. I've had a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) for a few months so will only do it if my foot Is fully fixed In the next few weeks. Going for the Marathon de sables next year so need to get it sorted really.el stovey said:

Got to be on the wish list of any runner though

Lovely place to race, lake swim in clear waters and a cracking bike route that included a Col at 70km and a run through the city streets. Warm one though with temps hitting 90f a respectablet time from me as well 5:48 in M45- 49 AG. Into M50 next year!

Next up Cotswold 113 Half Ironman on June 14th, anyone else doing this flat PB maker?
I'd originally entered but asked for my entry to be changed to the Cotswold Classic in August. That has allowed me to do the Cotswold 51.5 instead. At the moment I've never taken part in a triathlon!m444ttb said:

anyone doing the ITU in Hyde park at the weekend?
I'm off to collect my race pack on the way home and start at 9.40 on Sunday - the P5's first race (as long as its not wet, which it may well be)
Booked the Hotel and bike shipping for IM Copenhagen finally this morning - really do need to get some long rides / runs fitted in.

My first triathlon tomorrow. It's an individual team super sprint so each person does the full swim-bike-run in turn. Distances are short as it's only 250m swim, 8k bike and 1.5k run so will be properly flat out. Not sure how in going to approach the swim yet but leaning towards not getting involved in the start. I'll quickly be left behind anyway. I'm expecting people to be riding away from transition as I pass half way.

Good luck! You may find the swim not as bad as expected, although I wouldn't try to get too involved. The starts can be chaotic and if you're a slower swimmer the last thing you want is to be in the middle of a melee and risk getting ducked or pushed about as other swimmers go past, it will hurt both rhythm and confidence.
BTW, I haven't actually completed my first tri yet, but have done a few swims with busy starts. Best thing you can do would be find a little patch of clear water and find your own pace without being interrupted.
