Short V8 Vantage antenna

Few weeks ago I sold my V8 Vantage, and I still have a few V8 Vantage antenna's available, that are much shorter than the long dog tail provided (only for cars before MY08, after there is no antenna at all)

On a more serious note. Do they work any better (or worse) than the longer antenna.
In my area, it works the same (not better, not worse) as the original, the only reason for me to use it, is the better looks, see:
The V8V is in design almost perfect I think, there were only 3 minor points imho, one was the antenna (solved), the other one the lack of ipod/usb connection (also solved, I got the decent factory upgrade in my MY07 V8V) and lastly the ugly licence plate holder on the front (also solved by mounting a small, not-completely-legal one, and removing the holder) :-)
I HATE the bloody antenna, ever since my factory visit in 2005 and I saw them on the line. I see the new cars without and think it looks soo much better. I have tried a short antenna but found the radio pretty much usless, not in the countryside but up the M3 for example. I am guessing if this one could be a better quality one that the one of fleabay that I bought.

They offer a couple of alternatives (scoll down the page for "frequently bought together") which appear to come with adapters for connnection of m5/m6 thread depending on the Vantage fitment.

It seems not the same type. Mine have some electronic inside that keeps a strong signal, despite the short size, but I will look up where I bought mine several years ago, they where much more expensive for sure. Hello,
