As the title suggests some awfully nice person thought a meter long scratch down the drivers side of my new a3 would enhance its looks!! And im absolutely RAGING!!!!

I live in what i thought was a nice quiet part of town not on the way to, or from, anywhere so for this to happen is even more baffling.

Rumour has it a guy on the street has a major bee under his bonnet about people parking in front of his house, even though it is no obstruction to his driveway and a public road where anyone is entitled to park on. But of course with no proof to go to the police with, its not likely that anything will happen to catch who ever is responsible.

The cars a few year older so im not going to claim off my insurance and lose my substantial NCB just for the sake of some low lifes' actions.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for any repair kits you can buy to fix key marks??

Unfortunately it is a deep scratch and down to bare metal in a couple of spots.

Cheers

I'd say touch it up in layers not too thick in one go. Then polish it with some g3 it's a fine grinding compound that should smooth the scratch but dont do this dry as it will damage paint. Then giv it a good wax. Hope this helps

Are you sure your NCB isn't protected? If not, it really should be if it's substantial (max 9 years usually), then you can claim without worry.

P.S. If you have a genuine suspicion, there's no harm in reporting the crime to local Plod and informing them of your suspicions. It may help in the future if a pattern emerges. They can always CSI his keys! Good luck!
