13 year old girl murdered whilst going out to see a friend during the day by an older woman. Apparently a random attack.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshi...

Poor thing managed to call an ambulance herself but didn't make it.

Didn't the same thing happen in Kent only last year when another woman randomly stabbed a young girl and an old woman. Sadly the old lady died.

My eldest is 12 and is always out seeing her friends during the day.

Thought it was blokes that the girls had to look out for.

How awfully tragic frown

26 year old woman who was known to Police, NHS and Social Services has been arrested.

Someone else who should have been locked away for everyone's safety...?

Another care in the community success story by the sounds of things. Bring back the good old victorian loony bin.

All too common, this dreadful case has special significance to me but don't want to make it public:-

Think the one in Kent was in the SE london bit IIRC. Obviously that conjures up all sorts of images itself, but the murderess in that case turned out to be some middle class white crazy who came from a good family, had well turned out siblings, and she was just a degenerate. Shows its not just nurture or environment. That some people are just scum.

The worst bit is she had previously killed her own mother...and was let out.

Like i say, Care in the community, what a great concept. Lock 'em up in some damp dungeon, throw away the key, and be done with it. That's what should be done. Theyre not victims, they are animals.

How sad frown

Why the hell are people like the attacker allowed out in public if they're known to be a danger to others?

Drove past the scene today packed with tv crews. This is the second occurrence of a young girl being stabbed to death by a women fresh from the psycho ward. Similar incident in Doncaster a few years ago, investigation led to a review of releasing dangerous people into the community. Guess we will be seeing another review then.

So sad.

I feel so sorry for the family.

Another example of how cutting spending on important matters is inherently dangerous for society.

That estate she came from is well known locally as where they keep the mentals. No one goes to that estate unless they have too.

I live about 3mins walk from that park & often take the dog there, coming past on the way home tonight & the entire park is still closed off.

Very sad, used to play tennis in that park and never noticed it being bad before.

Strange set of circumstances that unfortunately collided for her to be hurt this way.

Just seen the report on look north and couldn't understand why she was in the park if she was going to town on the 55 which was reported.

Sad loss for someone too young to even date.

I've walked through it loads of times at night & not noticed it being bad either. There are always a few yoofs about & the odd drunk but nothing that seemed 'bad'.

"after a far reaching review, we have agreed a way forward forward for all parts of the care and justice community to work more closely together to avoid another such tragic case. Lessons have been learned...."

Copy/paste.

I think this is the third case of this kind. I remember a girl of around 7 being stabbed in the old Arndale center 20 or so years ago.
