As we see it in ag machinery, Adblue deals with the emissions in the exhaust without interfering with the engine. EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) is the other option offered by some makes which stifles some of the engine performance causing it to run hotter become more unreliable and use more fuel but not to develop power. Adblue every time for me.

EU6 needs both. EGR cools combustion in order to reduce NOx generation.dw

Does anyone know if Porsche West London extension is due to expected Macan sales?
Well it is probably going to contribute towards it, but it has been in the works for donkies years. The current building is very old and tired and doesn't fit in with the 'Porsche Design' of large open space. I guess the Germans just wanted to see how the market was developing after 2008, to justify buying the land and paying for the construction. On another note Mayfair OPC has a couple of nice spec Macans in the showroom. Although on the way there saw a panamera plugged into a charger Berkley Sq which made me think about the marque.
I had a good look around one on Wednesday. Lovely to sit in, but smaller than I had expected. I tend to have the drivers seat almost all the way back, and once comfortable there was no room in the back for the kids to sit comfortably. Sadly therefore its off the list, but a lovely, car

I was yesterday at opc swindon.
I'm sorry I just can't get my head around the whole concept.
Are porsche now building a rival to the lr evoque and if so why?
They have built the best handling SUV handling in the mid size class. Have a drive of one and you will see the point.I'm sorry I just can't get my head around the whole concept.

Same for me and I am not that tall. Was v tempted for the turbo and sat in a full specc'd one on Thursday also not so much room in the boot as I expected. Wozy68 said:

Because they're a business and there is a market for the product. So the same reason Land Rover build the Evoque. To make money. I'm sorry I just can't get my head around the whole concept.

Just come back from a drive of the Macan S.
Say what you like about the looks, but bloody hell I was really impressed by the drive. Power delivery is good and pulls clean to the redline, suspension is wafty in soft but never harsh even in sport plus, and the steering is precise with as much feel as can be expected for a car of this type.
Yeah, I quite like it.

It was a test drive, I wasn't going to sit there and drive it under 4k rpm for an hour was I? I warmed it up properly first for 10 mins, then gradually increased the revs to experience and enjoy the car. Have never treated a car any differently, never felt it to be a problem.
I wouldn't say the cabin feels small as such, mainly due to the long dash sloping away from you, but it definitely the size of the car well. Felt more like a big hot hatch than a small SUV, but in a good way. Big sunroof helped make it airy, too.

Car collected.
First thoughts:
Ride is fine - quiet and soft enough for in town but firm enough for spirited driving.
Balance is excellent.
Gearbox excellent.
Engine (diesel) is sweet in the low end, bit gutless above 3250.
Front view is great, very nice for in town and you can really see the road ahead.
General kit level is very good. Feels well bolted together. Nice materials.
Paint is a bit orange peeled but not the worst I have ever seen.
37mpg on the drive home.
So far, so good - will report back once I have some proper time behind the wheel.
Will post a few pics when I get chance.

Hello everyone, I am very late in joining this thread.
We (Mrs Hype and I) drove one of the Reading cars on the first day they were available. We drove the Petrol S which is the one we have on order and I have to say that I was well impressed with the car.
We had over an hour and a half to explore the Berkshire country roads and in a nut shell, this is a really impressive car. The petrol engine has a lovely power band right through the rev-range.
We are looking to `down size` from an ageing Touraeg to this and we like what we have ordered. We have done the diesel thing for many years, but now we are predicting to do less than 10K miles pa with the new car, so with the price of diesel here... We are well happy with the petrol and power combo.!
