A British Airways flight steward has been charged with making a mid-air bomb threat.

Matthew Davis, 22, was on the Tokyo to London flight where it is alleged he scrawled a message on a toilet door that caused a scare.

Davis was arrested when the Boeing 777 safely touched down at Heathrow Airport on Sunday after a 7,000-mile journey.

Mr Davis, from Crawley, West Sussex, was charged on Monday with communicating a bomb threat.

He is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on 28 February.

About 150 passengers were onboard the flight.

Seems that they had no trouble in immediately identifying who'd written the hoax bomb threat on the toilet door - which suggests that they've got cameras in the toilets.

I guess we shouldn't object to that given that a large proportion of the attempts to explode bombs on airliners have taken place in the aircraft toilets - but I'll remember to smile for the camera next time I'm sitting on the can on an aircraft.

Or he might have mentioned it to someone else who didn't share his sense of humour.

No cameras in the toliets I'm afraid.

I'd guess he admitted it after the security procedures began. It was probably a joke that didn't go exactly according to plan..

Why would you assume there are cameras in the toilets?
