Fresh meat, dried to make the sausage.

Do black people get a 'tan' like white people do after sunbathing?

Reason I ask is that Obama was on the box today condemning the Paris st and he looked notably darker in his skin tone than I remember.

Just been watching 'porridge'. In that and other older films and programs like Italian Job, the big boss type criminals always have more comfortable rooms and special treatment. Did that used to go on? I'm guessing it was back handers to the screws but then it would have to go all the way to the top as well.

Ok, this may be a stupid question, but:

The orange flashing lights on top of cones art roadworks; in this case the ones at the close off of a lane. I've only noticed this recently, but they flash in sequence, in the direction of travel (IYSWIM).

How?

The obvious answer is that they are linked somehow, but there are no apparent cables connecting them and to have them all linked by radio signal seems an expensive solution just to get some roadwork lights to flash in order.

Infrared synchronisation.

Can't see the bit that tells me how it works. Is it a sensor on each picking up a signal from the one in front? Infra red to ensure car lights/other sources don't set them off?

Ah - fair enough.
They have a infrared light (like in your TV remote control) that fires out the back.
On the front they have a sensor which picks up the signal.

I am not sure on the exact circuitry or timing but in essence the amber warning light will flash and the infrared light goes off too and tells the next lamp "I just flashed" at which point the second one will wait a moment and then flash their amber and send an infrared signal to the NEXT one --- and repeat down the line.

Cool. Thanks.

I know what you mean, in Goodfella's they seemed all share one big room, far bigger than the cells.

It's also meant to be based on real life.

In that Henry explains that they bribed the guards who could be bribed and Guards that wouldn't take the money would be intimidated or at the very least wouldn't 'rat' on the ones that would.

I can see how it would might work with a organisation like that, for every one of them inside there seemed to be a dozen outside and they rarely seemed to care about repercussions from the authorities - if a Guard starts giving one a hard time or in this case not allowing them more freedoms it wouldn't be hard to find out their names, and someone on the outside could find out where they live etc.

Are there any Citroen Xsara Picasso's that have a full complement of working light bulbs?

Not sure on the apostrophe situation here and fully expect to be hounded out of town.

What gives banana skins that disgusting taste if you happen to even catch your teeth on it?

Also, why are Braeburn apples a fraction of the cost of Pink Ladies when they are twice as nice?

What happens when we drill for oil and remove it from under the ground? Is there a huge empty void where the oil once was? Like an empty tank?
