On trade plates too.
All supposition, but I wonder if the vendor was in the passenger seat and a potential buyer was doing the pedalling?

Glad everyone survived.

Hi
I’ll keep this brief for obvious reasons.

It was Paul driving with the owner/builder as passenger.

We had the car for some minor finishing off jobs prior to testing.

They had simply gone out for a test drive prior to handing the car back to the customer.

We will hopefully understand more when we can examine the car. It stepped out under acceleration but we don’t know if something broke or it was simply new tyres with no miles on them.

Paul has cuts and bruises mainly to his left leg.
The customer has (I believe) possible pelvis and rib damage.

The photo in the News was after the roof, roll cage and part of the side structure had been removed by the fire service.

I was hoping it wasn't either of you guys but had a hunch it might have been. Hope both involved recover fully and speedily and just glad it wasn't any worse. The rescue services correctly prioritise people over any vehicle but they do tend to make any vehicle look a lot messier after they've chewed their way through to get full access to the occupants.

Testament to good build quality of it that the injuries weren't worse, looking at those pics.

Hope everyone makes a good recovery. Sad to see such a nice car absent from the road, but at least they'll both be out in another one pretty soon.

+1 Didn't want to post publicly, so sent a mail to Paul - I won't expect a response.

Hope to catch up with you guys soon, need to drop the cars off for some work.

Best wishes to the big man (and customer).

Its the jealous nimbies that have to comment at the bottom of the story on the newspapers website that make me sick.

I notice that the original comment, which was along the lines of "if it proves to be speed related, the driver should pay the bill for the emergency services" has been removed. Just as well too. furious

Got diverted around coming out of Stubbington just after the accident, it looked a mess from afar. Coming down Longfield saw the air ambulance arriving.

Hope all involved make a speedy recovery.

That part of Peak Lane is 50 mph, not 60 as stated in the paper, went down there yesterday to check!
